Tim Schafer Explains How Psychonauts for PlayStation VR Fits Between the Two Games

First of all, a disclaimer: If you haven’t played the first Psychonauts, and intend to, you may want to skip this article, because it includes a big spoiler on the ending of the game.

If you’re still with me, it means that you don’t mind about the spoiler, so let’s get to it. Game Director Tim Schafer explained during PlayStation Experience’s live coverage by Sony how the newly announced Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin for PlayStation VR will fit between the two games.

Psychonauts ends with a cliffhanger, with Truman Zanotto getting kidnapped, and the psychonauts flying off to rescue him. Psychonauts 2 will begin at the headquarters just after that rescue. In Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, we’ll play that rescue mission.

Schafer also explained that the game is going to actually be in third person from the point of view of Raz, but he can use clairvoyance to see through other people’s eyes and move his point of view around. He’ll also be able to use telekinesis, pyrokinesis and more powers in combination with that.
