Today, Tokyo-located studio Area 34 released a new Tiny Metal trailer to celebrate its presence at the upcoming PAX West 2017.

The new trailer primarily shows off gameplay footage of the military-themed turn-based tactics game that is said to be inspired by the classic and beloved Advanced Wars series.

For those that don't know: Tiny Metal -- as Area 34 says -- is the "revival of Japanese Arcade Wargaming." In it, you play as Artemisian Lieutenant, Nathan Greis, who has been tasked with defeating the villainous nation of Zipang.

As for the gameplay, it's very similar to the aforementioned Advanced Wars, which is to say it sees you commanding an army in turn-based combat fashion where you need to meticulously make your way around the map, navigate different terrain, and carefully balance between attack and defense.

Area 34 has already come out and confirmed that the game's single-player campaign will be roughly 8-10 hours long and include 13 different factions in the game and multiple friends to make along the way.

Tiny Metal is in development for PS4, PC, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch, and is poised to hit sometime this fall.

The game and some of its creators will be at PAX West on September 1-4 (2017) at the INDIE MEGABOOTH (Booth # 848). Below, you can check out the new, aforementioned trailer:
