In a new annual meeting for the fiscal year 2021/2022, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has "shattered" all of the company's target expectations, both critically and commercially, when it launched earlier this year.

"We now, clearly, have a new franchise on our hands", Pitchford announced before confirming that "future experiences are already under development at Gearbox". Clearly, the development studio is extremely pleased with the critical success of the recently released title, and aims to expand on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands either with further DLC or a whole new game.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands launched for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in March of this year. Here at DualShockers, we gave it an impressive 8.5 out of 10, calling Tiny Tina's Wonderlands a "unique concoction of the classic Borderlands formula mixed with a Dungeons & Dragons experience all in one package".

Gearbox is expected to have another hit Borderlands title on their hands too, as New Tales From The Borderlands will be launching for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 21. "Within the perpetually war-torn metropolis of Promethea, you'll control Anu, Octavio, and Fran on the worst day of their lives. Help these three lovable losers as they endeavor to change the world (and maybe even save it)!" reads the official description of the upcoming title.

Gearbox's CEO also expressed how Risk of Rain 2, Tribes of Midgard, and Have A Nice Death are all titles that have gone on to exceed expectations critically and financially for the company. Pitchford also revealed how excited Gearbox is for the launch of Homeworld 3, which he states is "shaping up to be something very special, a sequel many years in the making that is very highly anticipated".

Homeworld 3 is yet to receive a firm release date as of writing, but is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2023.
