In light of the success of Apex Legends this year, which has now surpassed 70 million players, some have started to question whether or not EA and Respawn would continue to make another proper Titanfall game or if Apex would simply be the main title in this universe moving forward. According to EA, while there is nothing to talk about with a third Titanfall game now, it's not something the publisher has forgotten about.

During a recent financial call from EA going over the past quarter's figures, the publisher was asked about Titanfall 3 from an investor. This investor wondered if plans for a third entry ended up being integrated into Apex Legends or if it would still be coming about in the fututre as another game entirely.

"It certainly could be a separate title in the future," said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen in response. "We really want to keep the team hyper-focused on Apex because we see there's so much opportunity there. But so I can't give you a sense of if and when it will come, but we're -- it's still a great brand and we certainly won't forget about it down the road."

While this comment from Jorgensen doesn't confirm or deny if Titanfall 3 is currently being worked on, it sounds as though it is a game that they're definitely open to releasing one day. Even though Apex Legends is currently the priority for the team at Respawn, things might surely change in the coming months or years. And heck, maybe Titanfall 3 is being worked on right now and we just don't know about it yet, despite what has previously been stated.

Regardless of whether or not Titanfall 3 ever ends up seeing the light of day, it'll almost surely be a next-gen game for Xbox Scarlett and PS5 if it comes out.
