There have been rumors and hints floating around, especially due to the demos showcased at several industry events, but today Respawn Entertainment Co-Founder Vince Zampella confirmed on Twitter that Titanfall's maximum player count will be six versus six, for a total of twelve human players.

@MrClutch514@Respawn 6v6 is max player count. Turned out to be the best balance with ai for us.

According to Zampella, the six vs six count was determined to be the best balance with bots ran by the Artificial Intelligence.

Compared with games like Battlefield 4 and its 64 players, Titanfall's numbers might seem a little low, but the title comes packed with giant robots. Will the presence of hulking (and quite awesome) humanoid machines be enough to differentiate the game in the eyes of gamers around the world?

We'll have to wait a couple more months to know the answer to that question, at least until the game's North American release date on March 11th, while European wannabe Titan pilots will have to hold on a little longer, until March 13th.
