We have known for some time that a new Tomb Raider game has been on the horizon as its development was confirmed at the end of 2017. Today, it seems we’ve learned our first details of Lara Croft’s next journey thanks to the game’s website.
This morning, the official Tomb Raider website was updated to prepare for some sort of announcement that is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning. Upon visiting the site, the only thing you are greeted with is a message that states, “March 15, 2018, 6:00 AM PDT”. When viewing the page source of the website, however, you can dig into the code and discover some details that we were maybe not meant to learn of just yet.
The page source seems to reveal both the release date and name of the next game in the Tomb Raider series. It states, “Shadow of The Tomb Raider is the climatic finale of Lara’s origin story. Available September 14th 2018″. You can’t get much more clear than that.
Other noteworthy details that are found within the source code tell us that the game will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC as well as stating that the official reveal date for Shadow of the Tomb Raider will take place on April 27. After that time, pre-orders for the game will go live.
You should be able to find all of this information for yourself assuming that the website will still be live throughout the day. If not, you can find a screencap detailing the title of the game and release date at the bottom of the page.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been the rumored title for the next Tomb Raider game for quite some time, so none of this information is too out of left field. As for what’s being revealed tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM, we’ll keep our eyes out and report back at that time.
