During today's Apple Event from the Steve Jobs Theater, Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard appeared to show off some new footage of The Elder Scrolls: Blades running on the newly announced iPhone XS.

The footage that we see of Blades isn't all that different from what we saw of the game at E3, but we once again get to see how stunning the visuals look, especially on that of an iPhone. Howard remarked that it's amazing to him how stunning these visuals look on phones nowadays when compared to how graphics used to look mere decades ago on what was considered high-end PCs or consoles at the time. We've come quite a long way.

As someone who has seen The Elder Scrolls: Blades running in person, it really is quite stunning what Bethesda has achieved on this platform. I'm usually not one to praise graphics endlessly, but when you see Blades running in the palm of your hand it's pretty staggering. The game's pretty fun to play, too.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades still doesn't have a specific release date but it's slated to launch at some point this year on both iOS and Android. You can find the segment of Howard appearing on Apple's stage below. Thanks to VentureBeat for the video.
