Back in the early 1990s when platformers reigned supreme, the Genesis classic characters Toejam and Earl brought their funky ways to a whole generation and gamers – though the 90s have come and gone, the Kickstarter-backed revival of the series will be bringing back the groove.

Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove, a new title that has been in the planning stages by developer Humannature Studios, has successfully reached its funding goal through Kickstarter of $400,000 with just over one day left to go (as of this writing).

Following its successfully-funded project, the revival of Toejam and Earl still has one day left to acquire its stretch goals, with the first (new “old-school” skins for the Toejam and Earl characters) having been reached at $425,000 – other goals for the title include additional levels, new characters, and other versions for PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U at the higher level goals.

Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove will be in development by Humannature Studios for PC, Mac, and Linux – the title is currently sitting at $435,900 with approx. 27 hours left for funding (as of this writing), after reaching its original $400,000 funding goal.
