Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Footage from PAX East Appears to Confirm More Changes for the West

Last months we reported the first signs of alterations to the western version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (originally named Genei Ibun Roku #FE) for Wii U.

Today YouTube user Censored Gaming published a video showcasing what appear to be further changes, in the form of characters’ ages altered to 18, and the replacement of the original underwear with fairly unflattering spats. You can see the video below.

A few days ago, Nintendo mentioned that Atlus is localizing the game, and that “any changes made to the in-game content were due to varying requirements and regulations in the many different territories Nintendo distributes its products.”

This sounds like an extremely strange (and rather weak) explanation, considering that no requirement or regulation exists in the target regions for the game — either legally or from rating boards — that would warrant the replacement of simple panties with spats, or bumping the age of characters that don’t really engage in any kind of egregious behavior to 18.

Nintendo also explained that the localization is “is consistent with the localization work” Atlus does on games they publish, but I really can’t remember other games by Atlus that had alterations in underwear or changes in the way cleavages were covered or exposed.
