Axiom Verge has come to a range of consoles, however not on Nintendo's handheld platform. However, according to developer Tom Happ the one-year-old Metroid-vania may still have hope of coming to Nintendo 3Ds.

In an E3 interview with Nintendo World Report, Happ mentioned that he was very interested in bringing Axiom Verge to Nintendo 3DS. This would be no easy task -- doing so would require major optimizing and downgrading of assets, much like Nicalis' Binding of Isaac: Rebirth on New Nintendo 3DS.

That said, Happ noted that these issues are not in themselves insurmountable, and he is currently investigating whether it is a possibility. Axiom Verge is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. Meanwhile, the game is planning to release on Wii U and Xbox One later in 2016.
