The world of gaming is filled with numerous personalities and iconic faces, and in a new title that is live on Kickstarter, players will get to take on the roles of their favorite game developers (or approximations of them, due to legal reasons) in the title Dawn of the Devs.

A new Kickstarter project has gone live for the title Dawn of the Devs, which will provide a puzzle platformer filled with characters based on familiar game developers, including Hiro Komiya (Hideo Kojima), Biff Klozinski (Cliff Bleszinski) and Tom Schiffer (Tim Schafer).

Each of the characters will have their own unique ability to help guide players through the environments and solve puzzles, such as Tom Schiffer using an adventure game-style point-and-click interface, Biff Klozinski using his chainsaw gun to get through obstacles, or Hiro Komiya using a cardboard box to sneak past enemies.

Dawn of the Devs is currently seeking funding through Kickstarter, with the project having a funding goal of $65,000 (and currently at $9,230, as of this writing) before its end next month. Included in the stretch goals for the title are additional characters based on Peter Molyneux, Gabe Newell, and Shigeru Miyamoto - known in-game as Milo Deveraux, Nick Gable, and Shiro Miyata - along with additional versions of the game for consoles, new character skins, and more.

Dawn of the Devs is currently in development for PC by Underdog Studios, and has an estimated release window for November 2018.
