Tomb Raider Film Starring Alicia Vikander Gets First Poster and Teaser; Trailer Coming Tomorrow
A new poster and teaser has arrived for the upcoming 2018 film adaptation of Tomb Raider, while a full trailer for the film is on the horizon.
While Lara Croft took on adventures in the past few years with 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot (and its acclaimed sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015), Lara is set to make her return to the big-screen early next year with a new film adaptation headlined by Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.), with the film getting a fresh look thanks to a new poster.
The first official poster for Tomb Raider was released giving a closer look at actress Alicia Vikander in the starring role as Lara Croft, while a teaser video also showed a little bit of the film in action, while the film’s official trailer is expected to drop tomorrow, September 19th.
The upcoming 2018 film marks the second iteration of Lara Croft on the bigscreen following the earlier adaptations that starred Angelina Jolie, with the first movie having released in 2001 (followed by its sequel, The Cradle of Life in 2003).
The upcoming new film, directed by Roar Uthaug, appears to be taking more of an approach similar to the 2013 game that will explore Lara’s backstory in a grittier, more realistic take on the famous explorer.
Tomb Raider will release in theaters on March 16th, 2018 – in the meantime, you can check out the film’s first official poster and teaser below:
