While Tomb Raider had its first crack at the big screen way back in the early 2000s with Angelina Jolie as the titular Lara Croft, the upcoming 2018 film adaptation will bring the recently-rebooted franchise to the screen once again with Alicia Vikander in the title role, with more footage from the movie available to see.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a second trailer for the upcoming Tomb Raider, which will once again bring Lara Croft to the big-screen, though this time around it will largely be inspired by the acclaimed 2013 reboot of the series, as Lara works her way up to becoming the legendary raider of tombs we've always know her as.

The film's first footage debuted back in September, and emphasized that the film -- which is being helmed by Norwegian director Roar Uthaug -- will blend together action and gritty tension for a semi-realistic take on Lara's globe-trotting adventures and her fight for survival in a harsh environment. Given that the rebooted game series brought some new dimensions to Lara as a character, I'm personally hoping that the film reboot can pull off the same trick, given the notorious run of bad video game-to-film adaptations that we've seen over the years.

Tomb Raider is heading to theaters on March 16th, 2018 - for a closer look at the upcoming new film adaptation of the series, you can check out the newly-released trailer below:
