Tomb Raider Cosplay Sees Lara Croft in Stunning Immortal Guardian Outfit
Check out cosplayer Isa as she fills the shoes of the Tomb Raider herself, Lara Croft.
Over the years, we’ve seen the Tomb Raider herself, Lara Croft, go from strength to strength. First launching in 1996, Lara stood out during her initial appearance in the male-dominated video game market and continues to stand out throughout the series’ history. Thankfully, Lara looks a lot different now than when she did when we first saw her 24 years ago but her popularity is just as strong with gamers across the board so it’s of little wonder why cosplayers find themselves wanting to walk in the shoes of this strong character. Cosplayer Isa has done just that and then some in this fabulous Immortal Guardian attire from Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Set beneath the darkness of a forest in Hampstead Heath, London, photographer So Say We All Photography captures Isa’s Lara cosplay as she climbs branches and takes a break against a tree whilst also trying to maintain social distancing due to COVID-19. If you’re not too familiar with this particular outfit that Isa is showing off, it’s taken from Rise of the Tomb Raider which is an ancient dark metal armor with a bear fur cowl and when worn, the outfit provides the player with a defense bonus against Greek fire. In one picture you see Isa walking through the forest with a torch in front of her, this was completed by using flash paper for its fire effect and some of the fog came from a spray bottle plus some editing to create an incredible atmospheric shot that worked so well.
On Isa’s Instagram, she has posted some pictures of how she went about creating her Immortal Guardian outfit. The gun you see Isa holding in her Lara Croft cosplay is a cheap toy gun that she simply painted and the climbing ax is made from foam, and the holster is faux leather with foam pieces. You can watch a short clip of Isa modeling her stunning cosplay below, giving you a really good look at the amount of detail and dedication that has gone into this outfit. As well as portraying the dynamic Lara Croft, Isa has also cosplayed as Kamala Khan from The Avengers, Winston from Watch Dogs Legion, Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn plus many more.
Make sure to check Isa out over on Twitter or Instagram to see all of her cosplaying adventures.
