It was teased earlier this week with a few short action-packed clips, but now the official trailer for the new Tomb Raider film has officially hit our screens and it's looking like it's going to be a thrill-ride.

In the trailer provided below, we get to see Alicia Vikander (Ex MachinaThe Danish Girl) acting like a true Lara Croft, at first calmly walking into a business building, but soon running and jumping from bad guys and disaster.

Notably, in the trailer we also see Walter Goggins (Django UnchainedJustified) as Mathias Vogel (a name that might be familiar to fans of the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot), as well as Dominic West playing the character of Lord Richard Croft, Lara's missing father. It also seems worth mentioning that Nick Frost makes a quick appearance near the end of the trailer as do Lara's classic dual-pistol-wielding habits.

In the Tomb Raider film, Lara must seek out the truth behind how her father went missing by venturing to the far-flung island where he disappeared. While she's there, she comes across some unsavory types and more than a little danger for her and the rest of humanity. This is the story of how Lara Croft became the Tomb Raider.

Tomb Raider is expected to release on March 16, 2018.
