New Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Coming in 2020 According to Potential Leak
"So here I am, doing everything I can..."
Are the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games coming back? Well, it certainly seems to be a possibility as the punk-inspired band The Death Set licensed a handful of songs for a “Tony Hawk 2020 game.”
As posted on Twitter by YouTuber TheNathanNS, they share a screenshot of a Facebook post from The Death Set. It blatantly states a Tony Hawk game is coming this year. The post reads, “Just licensed 5 new songs to Tony Hawk 2020 game. You’ll be hearing this shit soon.” At the time of this writing, it seems the band has taken the post down.
New Tony Hawk Pro Skater game inbound!
Keeping hopes low after the long, long row of abysmal games since Tony Hawk’s RIDE.
But this also seems like a major NDA breach. pic.twitter.com/gGUiNZL6i8

Tony Hawk has been the star of a plethora of skateboarding games, some better than others. The most notable is the beloved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, which hasn’t had an entry since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 in 2015. The Tony Hawk’s Ride series also brought the Birdman to consoles but with a skateboard peripheral you would actually “ride” on. Personaly, I think Ride is bad. I know, a very hot take.
Rumors for a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater have been going around for quite a while now. The Nine Club Podcast had pro skater Lizzie Armanto guest back in October 2019 where she confirmed the game’s existence and that she’ll be in it.
Personally, I really hope a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game is actually in the works. Much of my childhood was spent playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Underground for absurd periods of time. If Activision and the developer can iron out the mistakes from the 2015 release, it would be a blast to go back to this series again.
If the arcade-stylings of Tony Hawk’s popular skateboarding series isn’t your bag, there are games currently available that focus on realism. Session and Skater XL are available now via Steam early access.
