Creative Assembly have announced when to expect the coming of Attila and his vast army to Rome in Total War: Atilla today, setting a release date of February 15, 2015.
While Atilla may be the main attraction of the game, Creative Assembly has sweetened the game for those who pre-order by adding in a fee Norse themed DLC called the Viking Forefathers. The DLC, which will be available for purchase after the game releases, adding three playable factions to the game in the Danes, Geats and Jutes. Each faction comes with unique traits like immunity to hig-seas attrition or morale boosts to solders in winter that can be used in both singleplayer and multiplayer.
The latest entry in the Total War series will be taking players back to Rome shortly after the time period of Total War: Rome 2 with players anticipating the onslaught of Attila’s forces and trying to set themselves up in the best position to survive. Taking place in the Western Roman Empire, you will start with a vast amount of land and resources under your control. With political in-fighting and enemies surrounding your territory, the game turns into more of a battle to keep your empire from crumbling than complete domination. Add to that the new focus that has been put onto fire for razing cities and terrify armies and it becomes clear that the developers has really cranked up the apocalyptic tone for Total War: Attila.
