Today, SEGA released a brand new in-engine trailer for Total War: Three Kingdoms, which they revealed back in January. Unfortunately, this trailer also came with the announcement that Total War: Three Kingdoms has been delayed, now having a Spring 2019 release window.

While no exact reason was given for the delay, developer Creative Assembly will likely use this extra time to polish and add more to the game. That being said, Total War: Thrones of Britannia arrived earlier this year, so Total War fans can tide themselves over with that title until Three Kingdoms' release.

Total War: Three Kingdom's first in-engine trailer focuses on Cao Cao, the first playable general to be revealed. According to the game's developers, Cao Cao is a strategic mastermind that will work best with players who like to take a "divide and conquer" approach to battles.

While this trailer is in-engine, it does not show any gameplay, showcase in-game cinematics instead. When it comes to gameplay, Total War: Three Kingdoms actually makes generals very powerful, so they can take on groups of enemies by themselves in order to turn the tide of battle. That being said, the game will also feature a Classic Mode that offers a more traditional Total War experience.
