Trademark Hints at One Piece: Kaizoku Musou European Release

on December 30, 2011 2:30 PM

Yesterday Namco Bandai filed an application to register the “Pirate Warriors” trademark in the European Union.

It’s quite safe to assume that the trademark is related to the PS3 exclusive One Piece: Kaizoku Musou (Kaizoku means “Pirate” and Musou games are normally translated as “Dinasty Warriors” in western coutries).

Of course this is still to be labeled as a rumor, as no official confirmation has come from Namco Bandai yet.

No trademark has been registered for the United States, and Kaizoku Musou wouldn’t be the first One Piece game published only in Japan and Europe. Saint Seiya: Sanctuary Battle, another game based on a popular manga by Shueisha, will be published in Europe next year with no word on an american release.

American gamers may take heart in the fact that that the PS3 is region free, so they won’t be forced to miss out on the game despite the possible lack of an official release in the US.

In any case, we will reach out to the European branch of Namco Bandai and ask for confirmation.

In the meanwhile, you can see a screenshots of the trademark registration form below.
