Remember during E3 2017 when Ubisoft announced that they were creating a game in collaboration with Elijah Wood and Spectrevision called Transference? Well, that game has now quietly launched today.

Transference is a narrative-driven experience that combines both elements of FMV with first-person gameplay that has you exploring the ruins of a "corrupted mind". It falls into the psychological horror genre so if you're not good with scary games, you've been warned.

Even though much of the dialogue surrounding Transference has focused on it being a game that's playable in virtual reality, it is also readily available to play without the use of a headset. Personally, it was way too frightening for me when I tried it out in VR, but I found the story to be really interesting. If I get around to playing it, I'll likely play it in standard mode so that I don't have a heart attack.

The launch trailer is attached below if you'd like to check it out. Transference is out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC with it being available for VR play on PS VR, Vive, and Oculus headsets.
