After being outed by Amazon, Activision officially announced today at the American International Toy Fair in New York City that Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC.
The game is being developed by Edge of Reality not Highmoon Studios, while an entirely separate 3DS “strategy RPG” version is being handled by WayForward.
Spark will run alongside Micheal Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, combining both Highmoon Studios’ Transformers Cybertron and Michael Bay’s Transformers universes and will have playable characters from both environments (like Grimlock).
The single player campaign mode allows players to play as both the Autobots and Decepticons. Extinction mode, the multiplayer section is a horde-based combat featuring over 40 playable characters.
One of the more exciting features is that as the game progresses, multiplayer and single player modes will switch back and forth, which translates to, rank ups and power ups obtained in multiplayer can transfer to single player, and vice versa.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will release sometime this year.
