Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will be coming to PlayStation 4 next Tuesday, December 22, 2015. The launch price will be $21.99 and the developer is expecting a 10% PS+ discount at launch as well.

Trine 3 differs from the previous entries with full 3D gameplay, compared to the side scrolling 2.5D visuals of Trine and Trine 2. There are currently 28 trophies, including a platinum for the dedicated trophy hunters. Thanks to Exophase we know a majority of the trophies are silvers, compared to Trine 2 which had 13 trophies, 11 of which were gold.

Local couch co-op returns, as do the trio of controllable heroes. Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will also feature 1080p HD with 60fps and support for Stereoscopic 3D at 720p. Lastly there is language support for English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and Brazilian-Portuguese, and subtitles for Italian, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Simplified Chinese, and Finnish.

The story starts off with the Heroes growing tired of their duties. They try to return their extraordinary gifts to the Artifact called Trine, and so they meddle with powers beyond their understanding: Trine shatters and a heartless ancient sorcerer escapes. With only a broken artifact to guide them, the heroes must try and repair the damage they’ve caused… or the damage that might yet be done.
