Tropico 4 and LEGO Star Wars II are This Week’s Games Hitting Xbox One Backward Compatibility

One of the more random pairings of games in quite some time have now joined the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.

Usually, when new games join the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list, there’s some logical grouping of games that come to the service together. For instance, just look at last week’s additions, which saw the entire Crysis series becoming backward compatible. Or, you could look at a few weeks before when two older Tomb Raider games hit the list.

Well, this week’s titles that have hit the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program are pretty random and don’t have much in common whatsoever. As of today, both Tropico 4 and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy can now be played on an Xbox One console near you.

While neither of these games are bad by any means, I will admit that this is one of the more underwhelming tandems that have been added to this program in quite some time. Especially in the case of LEGO Star Wars II, which is even more questionable when you realize that LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga was already apart of the Xbox One list. Tropico 4, on the other hand, is a good get and marks the first Xbox 360 era Tropico game that has come to Xbox One.

Regardless, good on Microsoft for continuing to add more old games to this list every week. Sooner or later, hopefully all Xbox 360 era games will be compatible on Xbox One.
