New Trover Saves the Universe Trailer Cross Over with Rick and Morty
Even though the game is already out, Justin Roiland has released a brand new trailer for Trover Saves the Universe and it features Rick and Morty.
Ever since Justin Roiland’s Trover Saves the Universe was announced, one thing has been clear: the game shares a lot of comedic style with Rick and Morty. This is even more apparent when you listen to the voices in the game, which all pretty much sound like variations of the titular characters in the show. Now, the connections go even deeper, as earlier this morning the official Twitter account for the show tweeted out a new trailer for the game, featuring Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith.
In true Rick and Morty style, the trailer is very self-referential, even pointing out that everyone in the game sounds exactly like Rick and Morty themselves. There’s even a slight nod at season 4 of the show, which is set to premiere this fall. That being said, it does show off some gameplay from the title, so if you haven’t picked it up yet, maybe this trailer will hold you off until you do. You can find the whole trailer at the end of the article.
For those that don’t know, Trover Saves the Universe is…well, an absolutely bizarre action-adventure platformer that puts you in the role of Trover, who’s dogs have been captured and are being used to destroy the universe. And before you ask, yes, you read all of that correctly. It’s absolutely bonkers, but DualShockers’ own Grant Huff reviewed it and thought it was great!
Trover Saves the Universe is available right now on PlayStation 4 and PC.
