Truth or Lies Brings the Polygraph Home!

I know that title may sound a bit weird, but I don’t blame you as I had to take a second glance at as well. So, apparently THQ has a party game on the way entitled Truth or Lies, which will allow players to “join family and friends in a roundtable style game play answering an astonishing array of thought-provoking questions.  Utilizing a proprietary voice calibration system that works in conjunction with either the Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone or USB microphone.” I’ll wait to see the ESRB rating this gets in order to determine just how “thought provoking” the questions actually are.

So how does it work? According to the official press release, “Truth or Lies measures stress levels in a player’s voice to reveal the honesty of their answers”, call me skeptical, but I need to see this to believe it. Especially with “Hot Seat” mode, which allows players to ask any question they can think of.

If this in fact does work the way it is supposed to, I will start using my 360 as interrogation machine for the next time friends deny taking home monsters from the bar. Truth or Lies will be releasing for all three consoles this fall. So the only question left is, what would you use it for? Let us know in the comments section and the best answer gets on the ShockCast this week!
