Psychological Thriller Twelve Minutes Premieres at Xbox E3 2019

Annapurna Interactive reveal a Groundhog Day-esque adventure game where you play the role of a man trapped in a nightmarish time loop

June 10, 2019

To add to an already amazing line-up at Microsoft’s E3 2019 briefing, indie publisher Annapurna Interactive has released a new trailer about a man stuck in a time loop. The trailer opens up to a rather strange and upsetting scene between a man and his wife where they have a mind-boggling conversation about events that are about to happen with a mysterious visitor due to the man experiencing it all before.

The trailer is shot from a birds-eye perspective of a room which gives it a real sense that you’re invading their privacy, adding to the intensity. As you take on the role of the husband, things seem to go from bad to worse when a man who claims he is from the police department breaks into your home and accuses your wife of murder only to then give you a good beating, leaving you to die on your apartment floor.

You’re then transported back to relive the horror all over again as, after all, you’re stuck in a horrific Twelve Minute time loop so it is up to you to find a way out and break the cycle or ground-hog day will keep happening over and over again.

Annapurna Interactive have pushed out some really great titles of late so I can see this game doing really well. Also, with Luis Antonio, whom fans may recognize for his artwork in The Witness as the creator, you can guarantee that it’ll be, at the very least, an interesting ride from start to finish.

Twelve Minutes will launch on PC and Xbox One at some stage in 2020, here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later. In the meanwhile, you can check out the trailer below.
