Twitch Announces New “Host Mode,” Which Allows Channels to Play Other Streams
Twitch is rolling out a Host Mode which allows streamers to show other people gaming during their downtime.
If somebody’s stream is being shown on another person’s account, they’ll still recieve all of the viewers and follows.
The idea, Twitch senior product director Yoh Suzuki said, is to improve the way people connect, as well as allowing people to discover new content.
We want to help our community discover new broadcasters and give users new and better ways of communicating with each other. Host Mode is a significant step in this direction with other new social features just around the corner.
Twitch Host Mode is set to be live by the end of this week.
