Over the past few years, Twitch has evolved from a streaming platform into a vast community for gamers to share their gaming experiences and to play together, with the company expanding into a new app that hopes to serve as a one-stop shop for PC gamers and streamers.

In a blog post on the company's site, Twitch has announced the launch of the official Twitch desktop app, which will combine the platform's signature livestreaming experience with a variety of chat and community options to communicate with other players and watch streams from your desktop.

The free app will enable users to stream gameplay more easily from their desktop while also incorporating chat, VOD, and more. Alongside the experiences that users enjoy on Twitch already, the app also also provide some exclusive features, like Dark Mode (for late night gaming, voice and video calls, text chat/channels, servers, friend sync across different gaming platforms, and more.

The app also features integration with CurseForge, which allows users to more easily share and find mods and add-ons for popular titles such as The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimWorld of WarcraftMinecraft, and more.

The Twitch Desktop App is now available on PC and Mac - to download the app, you can click here and head over to Twitch. You can also check out the video from Twitch below for a closer look at what to expect from the desktop app and its numerous features for streaming, chat, and more:
