Nintendo Switch Online isn't the most expensive gaming online service around, but that doesn't mean you still can't snag some free months through some cool deals. Enter Twitch Prime, which if you recall, began a promotion with Nintendo a couple of months ago. Through that promotion, Twitch Prime members could get the first three months of a full year of Nintendo Switch Online services, and 60 days later, those members can now claim the rest of that year.

Keep in mind that this is 60 days after a member claims the first three months, not necessarily 60 days after the beginning of the promotion back on March 28. If members got the first three months on the very first day, they can now claim the remaining nine months. Presumably, this measure was to prevent anyone from simply subscribing to Twitch Prime, claiming a full year of Nintendo Switch Online, and then canceling Twitch Prime.

Whenever the case may be, Twitch Prime members still have until September 24 to claim the first three months of the deal and then until January 22, 2020, to claim the rest of the year. Through Nintendo Switch Online, members will have access to online multiplayer services and a number of NES games. Keep in mind that this deal only applies to regular individual Nintendo Switch Online accounts, and is not applicable to account in a family membership plan.

According to Nintendo, the Switch's online service has over 9.8 million subscribers, all who can take advantage of exclusive games such as Tetris 99. With that success in mind, Nintendo is looking into offering more exclusive content and titles for members of the service. Nintendo still has a ways to go before competing with Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, but perhaps we'll hear more from the company at their E3 2019 showcases.

On Twitch Prime's end of things, previous promotions have offered goodies for players of games including Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Apex Legends, along with regular offerings of free games.
