Two Videos Show The Power and Fidelity of Xbox One’s New Kinect

Microsoft Research just released two new videos, and if you’re excited for the upcoming Xbox One and its Kinect appendage, you’ll love them.

The videos star Microsoft’s Scott Evans and Kareem Choudhry as they show off the power of the new Kinect in all its increased resolution and enhanced capabilities, including the possibility to detect the user’s heart rate, his stance, and distribution of weight on the ground.

While I’ve never been a Kinect enthusiast, it’s very hard to call them any less than impressive. You can check both just below, and let us know if you agree or disagree in the comments.

In addition to the videos, Microsoft also published a rather interesting blog post explaining how they overcame the technological hurdles to develop the new Kinect in collaboration with a Silicon Valley-based hardware team. Check it out here.
