In April 2017, Far Cry 4 Creative Director Alex Hutchison left Ubisoft and partnered with Technical Director Yassine Riahi and Executive Producer Reid Schnieder of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to form a new indie developer called Typhoon Studios. While not much has been heard about Typhoon Studios' first game since the developer's inception, that title finally snagged a publisher today in 505 Games.

We still don't know much about this title outside of the fact that it will be multiplatform and is said to reflect Typhoon Studios' core tenants which are "strong flavors, lots of intertwined systems, a penchant for bad jokes and a deep and abiding love of collaborative play." This studio has also apparently already gotten support from Epic Games and MAKERS Fund, though 505 Games will be taking a more active role in supporting the game as publisher.

Alex Hutchinson explained why decided to partner with 505 Games for his fledgling studio's first title:

"As a smaller independent studio, finding partners who will support our creative vision by giving us the freedom to build our game our way is a top priority. 505 Games not only provides us that creative control, they offer deep support from a partner who really understands how to elevate indie games and bring out the best in the studios they team up with. Their track record speaks for itself."

Meanwhile, 505 Games President Neil Ralley only had positive things to say about Typhoon Studios, and seems excited to work with them:

"We’ve been steadily expanding our portfolio over the last few years by identifying and partnering with unique indie studios poised to make fantastic quality games. Once we saw the project Alex, Yassine, Reid and the team at Typhoon is developing, we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it. We’re always on the hunt for creative, innovative games and developers and this one certainly fits the bill perfectly. We look forward to helping Typhoon bring their exciting vision to life."

DualShockers will be sure to let you know when Typhoon Studios and 505 Games decide to unveil more about this multiplatform title.
