Ubisoft Teases New Assassin’s Creed Announcement (UPDATED)
As teased by its Chinese Weibo account, Ubisoft is now holding an Assassins' Creed teaser live stream on YouTube.
Ubisoft is one of the major companies that will hold a digital conference in June instead of its canceled E3 2020 showcase, but prior to that, there might be a surprising event today as Ubisoft China teases an upcoming announcement.
First spotted by the reputable analyst, Daniel Ahmad, Ubisoft China has shared a Weibo reminder for 8 PM Chinese Time, which is assumed to be a new announcement by the French developer and publisher. In addition to this, Daniel Ahmad also shared a brief clip of The Division 2 where the player spots a “Valhalla” sign on the wall, though the tweet is now unavailable. That said, if any announcement is about to happen, we will find out in the next few hours.
It’s worth paying attention to Ubisoft social media outside of China too. Both today and tomorrow.

Since Ubisoft launched Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the speculation begin on the next mainline title of the franchise, with most of them suggesting the Vikings era as the next destination for the series. Different titles have been rumored for the next Assassin’s Creed so far, but according to the latest listing by Amazon, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is probably the name of the next adventure. Various branches of Amazon have listed a new Assassin’s Creed game for November 17 with one of them referring to “Valhalla” and the Vikings era.
With Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft has made some essential changes in the series, shifting the gameplay mechanics into the RPG genre rather than the former third-person stealth-action style. The developers managed to improve the RPG experience by refining and tweaking the core elements of the gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Ubisoft is currently working on a bunch of anticipated games such as Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Gods and Monsters, Roller Champions, and Beyond Good & Evil 2, while none of them has a release window yet. It’s expected to hear more about those titles and the other ongoing projects at the company in June.
