Ubisoft “Had to Wait for the Technology to Catch Up” to Make Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Victorian London

By now, we all know Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set in a beautiful Victorian London. A setting that has a lot of details for Ubisoft to take care of like carriages, tall buildings and wide streets.

Creative director Marc-Alexis Côté said that they didn’t want to go there until the right technology became available, and that’s why they “had to wait for the technology to catch up,” due to the current generation.

“We had to wait for the technology to catch up, it’s like we really wanted to build what I call ‘modern London’, which is actually Victorian London and the Industrial Revolution. I feel like the technology was not there to build a pretty city. All the carriages, all the people, those taller buildings, the wider streets; they take a lot of computing power, and we’re there now.”

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate releases on October 23 for the PS4 and Xbox One, and on November 19 for the PC.

My main and favorite thing to do in my life is play video games on my PS4 and admire the work that has been done in each game whether it's an AAA or an indie. Games are games no matter how many people develop it, it's the passion and hard work behind it. I am a crazy fan of Game of Thrones and love to read National Geographic magazines.
