Today, Ubisoft, publisher and developer of games like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Widlands, the Far Cry series, the Assassin Creed series, and many, many more, has announced that it has opened up two new studios in Europe: specifically in its home nation of France and in Germany.

Even more specifically the new two new studios will be located out of Berlin, Germany and Bordeaux, France. According to Ubisoft, the new studios will focus on AAA multiplatform development, and will assist in creating new games for some of the biggest franchises in gaming. Across the two studios Ubisoft expects to have 100 employees by the end of the first year in operation. Additionally, the two studios bring the company’s studio count in France to five and in Germany to three.

Julien Mayeux has been named as studio manager for Ubisoft Bordeaux, Ubisoft Berlin’s studio manager hasn’t been divulged.

Christine Burgess-Quémard, executive director of Ubisoft’s worldwide studios writes the following in a blogpost about the announcement:

“We pride ourselves on attracting and retaining the best creative talent around the world, and on establishing video games as a viable career option and economic contributor in new locales.”

“Opening new studios in both France and Germany enables us to offer more opportunities to skilled graduates and industry veterans in those regions, who in turn will help our highly-skilled teams in development of some of our biggest franchises.”

Bordeaux will collaborate on games whose development is lead by fellow French studios, aka the four different studios in Paris, Lyon, Annecy, and Montpellier. This will include working on franchises like Just Dance, Steep, and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft Berlin will be assisting the two Blue Byte studios in Düsseldorf and Mainz, on an unannounced AAA project.
