Ubisoft Montpellier, the developer behind the Wii U exclusive ZombiU have released a developer diary featuring senior producer, Guillaume Brunier. Brunier talks about how the Wii U and its Gamepad are helping to create a zombie game like no other. The Wii U Gamepad will serve as the player’s survival kit during their time in zombie-infested London and will be essential if they want to survive for more than a few minutes.
Nintendo will be hoping that ZombiU can serve as a proof of concept for the Wii U, which is a big responsibility to have. It is the only new IP that has been confirmed to be coming this year for the console, so expectations will be high. Nintendo have several other titles like Pikmin 3 and Aliens Colonial Marines that will feature Wii U specific gameplay but ZombiU appears to be the front-runner for convincing skeptics of whether the new input device is worth the price of admission.
We will find out later this year if ZombiU can be more than just another mindless zombie game. For now, check out the developer diary for yourself and let us know if you think ZombiU has what it takes to be a system seller.
