Curiously, sports games like NHL 21 and UFC 4 were absent from yesterday's EA Play event. The showcase was pretty fast-paced, so maybe there just wasn't time. However, they could've easily tossed in a hockey puck or something in that Madden/FIFA spot. That said, UFC 4 is happening and we'll know much more about it next month at UFC 251. As you can see in the latest fight poster, EA is traveling to UFC Island to

" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">drop some news on their upcoming fighter. Check it out.

Announcing UFC 4 at UFC 251 makes a lot of sense. After all, most of the people who care about a new UFC game are already going to be watching. However, it is a little weird that EA didn't say something like "keep an eye on UFC 251" to tease the announcement on their big faux E3 stage.

That said, at least we know when the reveal is coming. NHL fans are still left waiting for even a trickle of news. Hopefully, the team continues to build on the solid foundation that is UFC 3. That game had excellent striking but was marred with lackluster modes and ridiculous microtransactions.

Personally, I'm hoping they focus on building a Fight Night: Champion-like career mode. I get it. Boxing isn't popular anymore. We're never getting a new Fight Night, but they should at least take a bit of what made that game great and use it to improve the UFC franchise. Of course, I'd also love to see them ax microtransactions, but we all know the chances of that happening.

UFC 4's reveal is coming to UFC 251. Presumably, the game will come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. PC could also be on the table, but only time will tell.
