UK Retailer Openly Selling Black Ops 2 Early

It’s not often that we see a retailer release a game early by accident, but it happens. Much less often is when we see one brazenly and openly selling the game with a promise of delivering before the authorized release date. Simply Games, a UK retailer is probably going to make a whole heap of money from people who want to be the first to get the game, then loose it on a whole heap of lawsuits from publisher Activision seeking to send a message.

This is important because if Activision does not bring down the fiery wrath of hell upon Simply Games, next time more retailers might take the risk. Though we cannot be sure, I would be willing to bet that plenty of gamers took Simply Games offer and tried to get a hold of Call of Duty: Black Ops II early. If Simply Games can make a profit breaking the rules, others will follow suit, and before you know it we won’t have pre-order bonuses from retailers, but competing delivery dates.

It looks like their Facebook page has already been altered to remove the offer, but the internet does not forget so easily, and neither do lawyers. It was nice knowing you Simply Games.
