The Ultra Unlock events are becoming a yearly feature in Pokemon GO and are rewards for players coming together and completing group tasks.

The second part of this year's trilogy is set to get underway soon and will have the theme of "Space".

This means, that like the "Time" portion of the event, players will encounter a range of different Pokemon they wouldn't usually see.

So, to help you prepare for the event, here are all of the Pokemon GO Ultra Unlock Part 2 details you need to know including the date, time and spawns.

Pokemon GO Ultra Unlock Part 2 Date and Times

Part two of this year's Ultra Unlock event kicks off this Friday, August 6 and will run for two weeks, finishing on Friday, August 20. It will begin and end at 10 am local time.

Theme, Spawns and Hatches

The theme for the Pokemon GO Ultra Unlock Part 2 is Space and will see Regional Pokemon appearing in areas that they wouldn't usually be.

This includes Heracross, Kangaskhan, West/East Sea Shellos, Heatmor, Durant and Blue-Striped and Red-Striped Basculin.

Niantic has confirmed the following Pokemon will be appearing in the wild, in eggs and in raids:

  • Alakazam (Three-Star Raids)
  • Basculin (Wild, 7KM Eggs)
  • Clefairy (Wild)
  • Durant (Wild, 7KM Eggs)
  • Elgyem (Wild, One-Star Raids)
  • Espurr (One-Star Raids)
  • Heatmor (Wild, 7KM Eggs)
  • Heracross (Three-Star Raids)
  • Kangaskhan (Three-Star Raids)
  • Munna (Wild)
  • Palkia (Five-Star Raids)
  • Shellos (One-Star Raids, 7KM Eggs)
  • Unown U (One-Star Raids)

Niantic has also confirmed that this will be the first opportunity players have to encounter a beautiful Shiny Heracross.

Research

Niantic has also confirmed that there will be Timed Research for players to complete, which will reward "encounters with certain event-themed Pokémon!"
