Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure has been out for almost a year now on PC, however now the fast-paced, colorful 90s-inspired platformer is coming to consoles. It’s arriving on PS4 and Xbox One at the end of July with a Nintendo Switch launch coming later in the year.

In Unbox you play Newbie, a delivery box who rolls, jumps, and unboxes himself through colorful levels, such as frozen mountains, exotic seashores and tropical temples. The game will have a variety of action sequences including narrowly escaping explosions, epic jumps from planes, and a variety of strange enemies to battle. While doing all this, you will gather collectibles, extra cardboard characters, and unlock plenty of unique outfits.

Keeping with the traditional platformer theme, there is an additional split-screen multiplayer mode in all editions of the title. Up to four players can battle and race alongside the game’s eleven different multiplayer maps in tournaments and competitions.

Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure will cost $30 US / £20 / $40 AU and will release on July 26 for PS4 and Xbox One, and on Switch by the end of this year. There is also a signature edition releasing for PS4, which will include the complete soundtrack, a developer’s Making of Unbox ebook, and special boxart/artwork.
