One of the elements that impressed many in the Star Wars 1313's reveal back in 2012 were its beautiful environments. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one disappointed by the cancellation of the game, but we could say that a small part of it will live on in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

After working at Lucasarts for almost 6 years on games like Star Wars The Force Unleashed and its sequel, and Indiana Jones and The Staff Of Kings, Brian Recktenwald worked on Star Wars 1313 as Lead Character Artist. Following the cancellation of the project, he was hired by Naughty Dog, and is now working on Uncharted 4 as an Environment Artist, as revealed by his Linkedin profile and by 3D Environment Artist Anthony Vaccaro on Polycount's forums. He's one of those who worked on PlayStation Experience's level.

On Star Wars 1313 he worked as an environment lead for the team and on modeling and texturing the giant portal, props and damaged ship textures.

Recktenwald is an extremely talented artist and also a great photographer, and below you can see some of his awesome artwork, including a few lovely photo illustrations. You can also check out a demo reel including his work on Star Wars 1313  and more.

If you want to see more, you can check out Recktenwald's blog and personal portfolio site.
