Today, developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the upcoming Uncharted standalone expansion that focuses on one of the series main characters Chloe Frazer, is set to launch exclusively for PS4 on August 22, 2017 (August 23rd if you're in Europe) for $39.99 USD.

For those that don’t know: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was first announced at PlayStation Experience 2016. The expansion stars fan-favorite and one of the series’ more prominent characters, Chloe Frazer. In The Lost Legacy, Chloe must enlist the aid of renowned mercenary Nadine Ross, — who you may know from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End — in order to recover a fabled ancient Indian artifact and keep it out of the hands of a ruthless war profiteer.

Naughty Dog additionally revealed that anyone who pre-orders The Lost Legacy at participating retailers will receive a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (which is scheduled to hit the PS4 as a PS2 classic later this year) when it launches on August 22nd.

For those that pre-order on PS Store, you’ll also get an Uncharted: The Lost Legacy PS4 theme designed by Truant Pixel in addition to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. You can check out the theme here.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to be the first ever standalone release in history of the Uncharted series and will be Naughty Dog’s most substantial story expansion to date. It will be available as a standalone game on store shelves, as well as for digital download. If you already purchased the Uncharted 4 Digital Deluxe Edition or the Explorer’s Pack, you will automatically receive the expansion at launch. Notably, the expansion will also come with access to Uncharted 4's multiplayer.

To accompany today's announcement, Sony also released a new trailer that shares a scene from early in the game where Chloe and Nadine are trying to unravel the clues leading to the Tusk’s location.
