Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r], which is a 2D fighting game that dates back to 2012 (in Japan at least), was officially announced during EVO 2019. Said announcement comes with new screenshots and a new gameplay trailer (courtesy of Gematsu), as well as the debut of a new character with ice-based powers: Londrekia.

This latest version of the fighting game was first revealed by Twitter user Wario64, then officially confirmed by both the EVO and Aksys Games Twitter accounts. The latter confirmed that the game would be receiving new calibrations and a host of other changes and updates:

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] is the newest port of Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st], which is an updated version of Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late, which was the 2014 PS3 update of Under Night In-Birth for arcades, dating all the way back to 2012. Yes, it's like that.

This isn't the first time an Under Night In-Birth version came to the West. Aksys Games released Late[st] for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita for North America while PQube took care of the European release. And while there's no official console yet, back in May the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated it for both PS4 and Switch.

Recently Seth from Under Night In-Birth has starred in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. Seth is a speed-based character who can close the gap between his opponent from varying distances. His projectile skill “Captive Segment” can be used as a setup for combos as it will only fire at opponents after a brief period of time and holds them in place.
