French Bread and Ecole are working on a new Under Night In-Birth (UNI) fighting game, with its developers teasing a sequel on Twitter.

New Under Night in-birth sequel game confirmed to be in development

The Under Night in-birth series celebrated its 9th anniversary on September 20, 2021. The first game in the franchise emulating Nasuverse vibes for a new original twist was launched nine years ago in Arcades. For the occasion, Nobuya Narita, the producer of the series, mentioned on Twitter "UNI is celebrating its 9th anniversary (with the 10th coming next year) I hope we'll be able to announce the next game as soon as possible. Thanks for supporting us for so long".

Later on, Masaru Kuba, the composer of Under Night In-Birth also known as Raito, tweeted in English: "We are working on the next(次) installment of UNI."

Needless to say, French Bread and Ecole are also behind the Melty Blood series. Raito is also the composer of Melty Blood. With the new game in the series, Melty Blood Type Lumina, releasing on all platforms on September 30. The 2D fighting game is a prequel to the new Tsukihime Remake. Be sure to check out and subscribe to Raito's YouTube channel if you haven't yet. He posts newly remastered versions of older Melty Blood tracks.

Currently, the last game in the series is Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r], released on February 20, 2020, on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The game is also available on PC, and there is an arcade version in Japan.
