Today, OtherSide Entertainment and 505 Games announced Underworld Ascendant will be headed to the Steam Marketplace on November 15, 2018.

From the minds of Warren Spector and Paul Neurath, Underworld Ascendant is a follow-up to Ultima Underworld, a game known for paving the way for the immersive sim genre. As seen in the new trailer below, you’ll play the role of The Ascendant and explore the dungeons of the Stygian Abyss to uncover a way to defeat the main antagonist, Typhon.

Factions within the abyss have found a means to defeat the “father of monsters” but were caught up in feud up until their demise. Each had a key to stopping Typhon; uncovering the knowledge each faction held is the only way of stopping the “nemesis of Zeus.”

Underworld Ascendant is an immersive sim that promotes player choice. There is no definite way to approach any of the challenges presented. Each obstacle faced throughout the dungeon can be overcome in a variety of ways. If you want to learn more about the game, you can check out our interview with the game’s Director and Writer, Joe Fielder.

The developer and publisher have also revealed that Underworld Ascendant will be coming to consoles. PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions are all currently in development and slated for release in 2019.

Underworld Ascendant will be $29.99 and can now be added to your Steam Wishlist.
