2017's PS VR hit Unearthing Mars sees a sequel due for release next month. Unearthing Mars 2: The Ancient War intends on picking up where the previous game left off.

Last time around players accumulated a range of different abilities throughout the game giving way to something of a first-person shooter experience in the later chapters. Unearthing Mars 2: The Ancient War will be piling on the action from the very beginning. Armed with a PS VR headset and an Aim Controller, players will be able to activate a slow-motion combat feature which allows them to target enemies' weak spots to incapacitate them. The redesigned combat system will also allow gamers to engage their foes without feeling nauseous.

The game will feature a variety of weapons for players to equip as they make their war through a war-torn martian city. These include primary weapons such as shotguns and assault rifles, as well as more advanced technology like plasma-based firearms, rocket launchers, and chain guns to really wreak havoc as they do battle with absolutely enormous bosses. The trailer below shows off some of the massive encounters that await players which include gigantic machines and heavily armed tanks large enough to fill the city streets.

Unearthing Mars 2: The Ancient War will be available from September 18 exclusively on PS4; if you still haven't hopped on the PlayStation VR train, you can grab it at a discount from Amazon. Check out the brand new announcement trailer below:
