Unreleased inFAMOUS: Second Son Artwork Shows How Betty Was Created at Sony VASG

Betty is one of the most beloved characters of Sucker Punch’s inFAMOUS: Second Son. Her motherly demeanor and absolutely adorable attitude earned her a place in the hearts of many gamers. Thanks to some previously unreleased artwork, we can see how she was created, and learn something interesting about her.

One of the less known facts of development of games by Sony’s first party studios is that a lot of their assets are created at Sony VASG (Visual Arts Service Group) in San Diego, which specializes in Animation, Motion Capture, Cinematics, Art and Scanning, and acts as support for the specific studios, providing its services where needed.

Sony VASG’s senior character artist Darcy Korch worked on Betty, and recently released her artwork on his personal portfolio. There’s so much attention to detail that (since character model shots like this are normally drawn without hair) she’s even wearing a hair net.
