Today, developer 2 Ton Studios and publisher Digital Uppercut Productions announced their new game, Unto The End, for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

According to the pair, the game is inspired by NES classic Punch-Out!!, For Honor, and Bushido Blade, and is a 2D cinematic combat-adventure that is a journey of loss and vengeance, “told through unforgiving encounters, skillful combat, and stark moments of beauty.” In the game, you will fight your way through an indifferent wilderness as you search for the creature that has apparently taken everything from you.

The following story overview is provided:

Frigid steel drawn in anger. The beast roars, tearing away your strength and humanity. Blood splashes on the snow. Ragged breath streams from an exhausted body. Your family is slaughtered. You could not protect them. You wake. You survived. Vengeance is all that remains…

Meanwhile, a features rundown provided by the developer mentions sword-base tactical combat with unique battles and multi-faceted opponents. Further, the game emphasizes multiple playthroughs via variation in choice throughout the game and consequence.

Unto The End is poised to release sometime in 2018. Below, you can check out an announcement trailer and batch of debut screenshots which accompanied the announcement:
