Unto The End is an upcoming "2D cinematic combat-adventure" game from publisher Big Sugar and husband and wife development studio 2 Ton Studios. The game was announced as a day one Game Pass title as a part of the Xbox E3 briefing. The studio also unveiled some new alpha gameplay footage as part of the announcement. Check it out below.

Unto The End focuses on deeply nuanced 2D combat. You'll need to carefully watch your enemies so that you can react and counter their attacks. The one-on-one and group battles will require you to use your full arsenal of abilities, including your opponents, to win each battle. Every encounter is handcrafted by the developers, which means you can expect long battles that tell a story.

The fighters you face each have their own story and reason for engaging you in battle. These multi-stage encounters will test your skill and force you to truly learn what makes your enemies tick. Otherwise, you'll find yourself on the wrong end of an enemy sword.

The fights in the trailer look incredibly engaging. We see the player character use a rock to vault over his opponent and attempt a big strike. Granted, it misses, but it looks super cool. We also see him dual-wielding a sword and a dagger, using them both to slice up an enemy in the snow. It all looks great. I'm excited to get my hands on it and see how the combat feels.

Unto The End is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2019. The game will launch on Xbox Game Pass as day one release. Stay with DualShockers for all the news from E3.
