Users Discover the Hilarious Way Croteam is Punishing Pirates of The Talos Principle

Since its release earlier this month, The Talos Principle has been taking big acclaim for its smart structure and puzzles, though those thinking of finding the game free online may want to think twice to avoid the wrath (and hilarity) of Croteam’s anti-piracy measures in its latest title.

In the Steam Forum page for The Talos Principle, one user took to the comments to complain about what was originally perceived to be a bug, finding the user stuck in an in-game elevator that won’t move anywhere. Replying back, another user confirmed that it’s not a bug, but instead the cheeky anti-piracy measure that Croteam employed against pirates of The Talos Principle – the studio was already known for its hijnks with Serious Sam 3: BFE several years ago, which spawned an unkillable giant scorpion on pirates.

Publisher Devolver Digital took a screenshot and tweeted out the hilarious message, reflecting what may be the sentiment of many: “Well played, Croteam. Well played.”

The Talos Principle is currently available on PC.
