Today, Level-5 announced that Ushiro, a game which was initially announced in 2008 for PlayStation Portable and mobile, but never released, will now release for Switch.

The news came in form of teasing by Famitsu on its website, ahead of the release of this week's issue of the magazine. It will feature an extremely long interview with Level-5 president Akihiro Hino, revealing the revival of the game.

Ushiro was a horror-themed RPG where the player controls a phantom boy who made a contract with a suicidal schoolgirl. The ghost would grant one of her wishes in exchange for her life. The game would have featured 3D exploration set in Tokyo and turn-based battles. The name of the game, "Ushiro" means "behind" in Japanese, as in "there's a ghost right behind you".

We'll know more about the Ushiro Switch revival with the release of Weekly Famitsu Magazine on Thursday JST.
